About Millikin University

Millikin University is a co-educational, comprehensive, independent, 4-year university, with the main campus located in Decatur, also known as `the Soybean Capital of the World`, which is the largest city in, and the county seat of Macon County, located in the US state of Illinois, with more than 81 000 people, living within its limits, as estimated during the 2000 census.

Millikin University was established in 1901 by James Millikin, a prominent Decatur businessman, and it is historically affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), affiliation which no longer exists. It offers its students traditional undergraduate programs in Business, Arts & Sciences, Fine Arts, and Professional Studies, as well as non-traditional, adult degree-completion programs (PACE) and graduate programs in Nursing and Business Administration.

Athletics

Millikin's athletic teams are known as the Big Blue and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are white and blue.
